#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
This year #GivingTuesday falls on Drew’s birthday. We are asking everyone to give $6 in honor of Drew’s 6th birthday.
WHAT WE'VE ACHIEVED
Thousands of children have benefited from the musical resources (instruments, classes and performances) provided by Drew’s Tunes.
Over $50,000 was donated to Anna’s Arts for Kids. These funds allowed Anna’s Arts to host a music summer camp, help fund multiple After School Programs and hire an experienced vocal coach.
March has been proclaimed Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood Awareness Month for the last four years in Louisiana. In 2017 43 states total across the country recognized March 2018 and SUDC with the same proclamation because of the work of Drew’s Tunes. Over $200,000 has been donated to support music education for children and research for SUDC, with the majority impacting NOLA children. This includes $40,000 donated towards SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood) research.
Over 2,000 instruments have been purchased and donated to local music programs.
